Barielle Advanced Every Day Nail Care: Nail Strengthener Cream

Well that title is a mouthful. But that is the name of the product I am using lately.

My nails have always been not the greatest but with the nail polish kick and the use of Acetone removers my nails got a bit worse. Rather awful to be honest. So I have spent this week being polish free and applying this nail cream every day, multiple times a day. And it IS helping.

My nails are noticeably less flaky. Which is awesome. They also aren't peeling off thin layers like they were last week. Huzzah!

Got mine at Sally Beauty for 10 dollars. Ten Dollars well spent!

Nutra Nail Products, I think they might just work!

So my first gradient was a smashing success and lasted, without ANY chips, a solid 7 days. Seven GLORIOUS days of beautiful pink and blue.

I know it wasn't the polishes I used for the actual gradient because that stuff will be gone in a few hours if you aren't careful. I think the grand success was due to the base and top coat I used. They were Nutra Nail "Bullet-Proof Strength Formula" and "High Gloss Top Coat" which I purchased bundled together at Wal-mart in March. They were seven dollars or so.

Honestly when I bought these I wasn't expecting much. But since I have started using them I have been pleasantly surprised.

The Bullet-Proof as a base coat helps my polish adhere to my nails better I think, and the top coat definitely is glossy and smooth.

I'd definitely recommend them to my polish buddies.... If I had any polish buddies.

This was how my gradient looked after seven days (I'm super proud n'stuff):

Gradient Nails

I followed this tutorial for my first try and doing a gradient paint job. And it turned out pretty dang well. I can't stop staring at my nails now.

I've also been stressing and that triggered my finger chewing habit... so sorry for my rough looking fingertips.

Anyway here is the gradient I dun:

I really like how the colors I chose came out.

And with a new month comes money and a new desire to buy nail polish.... must... resist.... xD

Until Next Time!

Hmm...

It's been a few weeks. I've been sorta off the polish wagon due to laziness and life.

My fingertips have been abused by my teeth because I am a nail and finger tip biter. Which sounds weird. Today I am painting my nails with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in "Gunmetal" now that I can do so.

Tomorrow we are going to town and I plan to see if I can snag some nail polish at Walgreens. Or maybe splurge on OPI polish at the nail salon.

Decisions, decisions.....

Woo! Thanks Lizz!

My sister gave me a bottle of nail polish today. she got it for herself originally but decided she didn't like it. If she was only applying one coat I can see why, one coat of this stuff is ugleh. But to really get the full glory you need at least three coats.

The polish is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, Black and Blue.

The brush in the bottle is pretty wide and the tip is curved. I was expecting this to make it more messy but it was actually less messy.  I still got polish every where but not as bad as I do with other brushes. The color is gorgeous. Some angles it is greed, some it is blue. Even purple in some light environments! I cannot get over how much I love this polish.

Now for the pictures, there are quite a few of them due to trying to catch all the colors in different lighting.

Gorgeous right?!

Anyway, to top off my paint job I put on some stamps. Skulls and what I can only assume is a zombie.

And now for me to finally sleep.

HA!

Salon Perfect! That is the name of the new brand to my Wal-Mart's Nail Polish aisle.

Also I love the new lighting for the polish section. It's lovely. Here is a hastily snapped photo from my cell phone of the display.

Next month is gonna be tight financially, but I still am hoping to get a couple bottles of polish... I need more creme colors. I have a HUGE amount of metallics, and a fair few glitters but next to no cremes.... Time to plot for my next shopping trip.....

Happy early Easter?

Because I am crazy and get bored easily, I decided to do my Easter nails today. I opted for a base of white with metallic pastel pink and purple splatter. This was my first time doing splatter and the pink was not very cooperative. My camera also does terrible at picking up the contrast in the colors, my apologies.

As you can see, I had some big annoying splats and some nice fine splats. I prefer the smaller splatter because to leaves more room for other colors to show against the white. I also had quite a bit of trouble aiming my splatters. Practice will undoubtedly help fix that issue.

Polishes used:
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, White On
Pure Ice, Outrageous
Pure Ice, New Lilac
