Throwing down some pictures!

These are just a few photos I took last night of the five polishes I got at Wal-mart on the 12th. There are three SinfulColors shades and two Pure Ice shades. I think I will start with the Pure Ice. :3

Pure Ice, Speechless (bottle)

First you will probably be noticing the bottle looks dark but the polish looks pretty bright, yeah? Well that is because the swatch is on a clear stick with a white background and the polish it's self is a very sheer jelly style polish. It's a very vibrant, beautiful color but I know I would have to tone it down somehow to have it look good on me, I will probably use it over a darker color in the future.

Pure Ice, Laven-dare (bottle)

So I love this color, not so much the way it applies.... Shown here is two coats on a swatch stick and you can clearly see it is still pretty streaky. The color is so pale I almost thought it was a pale-gray-off-white, but it is actually a very subtle purple-off-white. It reminds me more of faded Lilacs than Lavender but regardless it is gorgeous. I will be interested to see how it looks on my actual nails and if it will smooth out after adding a top coat as many super pale colors tend to in my experience.

On to Sinful Colors!

Wowza that's blinding. It's a lot less IN YO' FACE when you look at it in real life. My camera decided "Lets see if we can't blind people with this color!" Basically imagine the color pictured toned down a level, it's actually very pretty and while I don't see myself using it for full coverage it will be great for nail art!

SinfulColors, Mint Apple (bottle)

My camera needs a kick in the teeth. This color is much more pale in the real world. It's a gorgeous shimmery green color that I have been wanting for a while, finally found and HAD to buy. It applies pretty solid in two coats and is not streaky at all unless you actually have too little polish on the applicator brush. It's super SUPER pretty. Just sayin'.

SinfulColors, Rise & Shine (bottle)

This is a beautiful green leaning teal with a subtle shimmer. It's a pinch streaky in application but I'm sure that can be mastered by people with better technique then me. I really love this color because it is so bold and all around pretty. And I am not sure when I will use it first on myself but I want to use it in something awesome that does justice to the color.

Anyway, there they are. This post took me two days to finish thanks to interruptions form friends, then needing to sleep, and after that being lazy! xD

Happy painting! 8D

SinfulColors Gorgeous

SinfulColors Gorgeous really is gorgeous.

It's a frosty bright blue, that requires 2 coats for full opacity. It applies very evenly but is a bit sheer in one coat. My bottle happened to have a somewhat deformed brush, but it is still usable, and is not a usual occurrence. When you are applying be sure to use even straight stroked and make your coats fairly thin because it may show brush lines if applied to heavily.

First two photos are of the deformed brush:

As you can see it is wide and flat because of the bristles breaking out the side of the stick. This is not normal, and the only time I have ever run into this issue in any polish.

And this is what the bottle looks like, in the bottle it looks darker than it really is.

And here it is applied, two coats, and a quick dry top coat.

I plan to buy this again when I see it again so I can have plenty and not worry about running out.

Thanksgiving Nails

A simple french tips style done with two SinfulColors polishes. I had planned something different but was pressed for time and fell back on this.

Colors used were SinfulColors Dancing Nails as a base then a layer of NYC Matte Me Crazy top coat, then tips done with SinfulColors Rich In Heart. I feel like I used too thick a line for the tips but that's what happens when you freehand I guess? Still I like how it turned out with the matte lighter shade and the super glossy dark tips.

Last Weekend's Halloweeny Nails.

Apologies again for lack of posting. I seem to do that every time I make a blog. Stick with it for a while them run away for a month or two. Yes this wasn't a month (or two) but it was still longer then I had intended.

So a certain someone whom I follow did Halloween nails and I liked one of the designs she did so much I decided to do something similar. Funny how that is because she was inspired by another blogger.

Anyway my weekend nails were orange with stitches (not quite patchwork) and skulls on my ring fingers for a bit of pattern breaking.

Not very fancy, but my friends seemed to like them. I would have kept them on longer but today I got a new Housing to put on my DS lite and in swapping out the housings my nails got pretty much ruined. So tonight or later today (is it really 4am?!) I'll be painting them again.

Hmm what to do....

Still sick, but painting again!

I'm finally getting over my 20 day (and counting) cold. Although my mum seems to have it now...

Anyway today I went shopping in town, a dangerous thing for me to do.... and came out with MORE POLISH. Mostly stuff I hadn't planned on getting but fell in love with when I saw them.

Here is a picture of the haul:

The three on the left are Wet-n-Wild MegaLast colors, apparently re-releases of last year's Pick Your Poison collection, I got Toxic Apple, Poison Ivy and Lethal Injection. Next to them is bottle a SinfulColors' Black Magic. Next to thaaat are two polishes my mom actually got for herself (which doesn't mean I'll never use them...) They are Sally Hansen NailGrowth Miracle in Sweet Sunrise and Mighty Mauve, these were on sale, half price I believe (don't quote me on that, I am really not sure). And finally Two of the Sally Hansen Magnetic polishes. Normally the Magnetics would have been around 10 dollars but Walgreens had them HALF-PRICE. So I HAD to get the two colors i have been eying for ever. Those Colors being Polar Purple and Ionic Indigo.

All told the 8 polishes came out to less than 25 dollars. My bill was $18 and change and my mom's was about $6.

So of course as soon as I got home I had to slap them all on. Wrestling with my camera tonight has been a chore so you only get to see the results of one hand's worth of polish. Four of the new colors all on my main digits.

From left to right, pinky to index, we have:
SinfulColors Black Magic over Snow Me White
Wet-n-Wild MegaLast, Lethal Injection
Wet-n-Wild MegaLast,  Toxic Apple
Wet-n-Wild MegaLast, Poison Ivy

SinfulColors' Black Magic is quite pretty and VERY Halloweeny with super fine dark grey glitter mixed with regular sized orange glitter. You can't see it well in the above photo but the distribution of the glitter was great even with me sloping it on like an idiot.

Wet-n-Wild Lethal Injection is what I would consider a lovely burgundy. It looks significantly less purply-pink in real life compared to my photo. Application was smooth as silk but did require two coats.

Wet-n-Wild Toxic Apple is what many people refer to as a "blurple" in the bottle it looks solid deep, ever so slightly blue tinted purple, on the nail it is a little shifty between royal blue and that same gorgeous purple shade the bottle promised. Application, again, was nice and smooth and also required two coats.

Wet-n-Wild Poison Ivy, where do I start with this utterly fantastic green..... It's like the deep woodsy green I never knew I was sorely missing. In the bottle it is gorgeous, on one's nail it is fantastic. It is easily one of my favorite greens ever as of today. Application was a little less that perfect. first coat was a pinch streaky, second coat cleared that up nicely however and after those two coats is was ready for a clear top coat.

And for funsies, want to see how my nails looked before i cleaned up the "stray" polish on my skin? OF COURSE YOU DO! It's a lovely fiasco. xD

Also look at how not glossy they looked! How icky!

Anyway tahtah for the night. Unless I get ambitions and try to get a good picture of my left hand too.

Combo, Days 25 & 26.

Inspired by "Fashion" and "A Pattern" I chose the pattern "houndstooth" and the fashion aspect was fall colors. Once again half way through I decided I didn't like something and did a switheroo. On my right had I have China Glaze Agro stamped with SinfulColors Rich in Heart on my left China Glaze Agro stamped with SinfulColors Mercury Rising. I like my left hand sooo much better.

Anyway here are the photos. :3

Prett pretty. :3

Day 21: Inspired by a Color

I chose (like a few other nail bloggers) to interpret this prompt as "inspired by a color name" as in the names ont eh bottom of polish bottles. I went with the color Silver Star, by Pure Ice. I did a base coat of darker silver, SinfulColors' Silver Screen, then stamped stars on my nails with PureIce's Silver Star polish. the stamp plates used were Mash 36 and Mash 49. The results:

I think it turned out GREAT. I was initially afraid the silvers would be too similar but they surprised me and contrasted JUST enough to make a very pretty silver star print.

How did you interpret today's prompt?

Day 18, Half Moons

Did I say I wasn't going to do half moons? Well apparently I lied. I got some stuff to use for blocking off the appropriate areas today and decided to do the half moons I said I wasn't going to do. Tee-hee-hee?

I used two colors and did a simple, standard half moon. The polishes used were SinfulColors Rich in Heart and SinfulColors Dancing Nails.

So I really like how it came out for my FIRST half moons ever. I am really looking forward to doing more of these sometime after the challenge.

Days 12 & 13: Stripes and Animal Print

The last two days have been pretty strange. I've been sleeping most of the time and when not sleeping I have felt so drained that I didn't want to do anything but be a vegetable with my Netflix and Hulu documentaries. So when I finally mustered up the energy to do my nails Thursday night and realized I had two days worth of nails to do.... I decided to combine them into one.

So here they are:

As you can see, I chose to use a stamp. And the stamp did not like my tired and somewhat lazy application. But I am content with the result considering how I have been feeling lately.

I used SinfulColors Hot Spot as a base and for the stamps I used Sally Hansen White On.

Day 11, Polka Dots

I am not a super fan of dots, mostly because I can never get them spread out evenly when I want them to be. So I was expecting today to be super annoying to get done. Well I was wrong thank goodness! I did a simple "dotted tips" design and I love how it turned out.

The two colors I used were SinfulColors Opening Night for the base color and then SinfulColors Gorgeous for the dots. I almost used SinfulColors Rich in Heart for the dots but decided I wanted something lighter and more complementary to the base color. Rich in Heart is a very dark red. To top it all off I used Seche Vite, which, unlike some top coats I've used that make some colors fade into each other, actually made them contrast more. Which was great, the more I use it the more I see why people are so crazy for Seche Vite.

And as a crazy random bonus my nails look really nice with my 3DS!

Day 5: Blue!

So the first thing I did was try the dry water marbling on my right hand. And it worked pretty good except my very first try I messed up royally. "Oh it should be dry now -yank- Oh crud ALL the polish came off WITH the plastic...."  Kinda a reverse of what was supposed to happen. So I tried again and it worked better I just had to patiently sit a while and watch and episode of Empires. Here is the result:

Sinful Colors Hot Spot and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away

Once again it's an epic mess. I am getting lazier and lazier as this challenge goes on and it's only day five... BUT IT'S STILL PRETTY!

My other hand I went a different route....
Gradient!

Sinful Colors Gorgeous on all fingers.
Sinful Colors Opening Night on thumb and Sinful Colors Hot Spot on the rest.

I love how it turned out.

Yes there are days specifically for gradients and Water Marbles but I havent done either in so long, and seeing them on the list was taunting me.

I'm easily taunted.

Also blue is my favorite color ever so I had to so some thing special.
